Jazz tones at Blakes Lounge Bar

For happy jazz tones and an almost magical atmosphere one should visit Blakes Lounge Bar & Bistro in Alsancak. The elegant salon is as stylish as it is homely, with sparkling crystal chandeliers and long tables adorned with petite candleholders. In several places of the room comfortable sofas have been placed for guests to sit back and enjoy drinks and sweet tones of jazz. This is a bar for bon vivants and music lovers.

Last Saturday Blake’s hosted The Hot Club of Cyprus consisting of band members Huseyin Altan on guitar and vocal, Kadir Evre on guitar, Greg Makamian on double bass, Konstantinos Eframidis on clarinet, and featuring Ersen Sururi on viola. Some 75 people showed up to see them play beautiful tones of Gypsy Jazz.

Co-owner Delia Rushbrooke was very pleased with the evening:”The band does not usually perform at gigs other than concerts either in South Cyprus or in Lefkosa so it was an honour to host them here,” she said. “They were absolutely fantastic and the customers were mesmerized by them. I would love to welcome them to take the stage here again and hope the customers think the same.”
